Tonight, Daylight Saving Time will begin, and the winter time will come to an end. This means that the clock will go forward one hour tonight, from 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. As a result, it will be slightly darker in the morning, and there will be more daylight in the evenings.
Daylight Saving Time is active in the spring, summer, and early autumn.
And a fun fact: winter time is the “real” time.
Did you know that in September 2018, the European Commission decided that EU member states could decide for themselves whether they wanted to live in summer or winter time? And that from 2019, the transition between the two times would be abolished? However, the EU transport ministers decided to postpone the final decision, which has not been made to this day. In other words, everything remains the same for the time being.
