It’s October 31st, the evening when the world immerses itself in a mysterious and enchanting atmosphere – Halloween!
While this enchanting celebration originally hails from Ireland, America, Canada, and the United Kingdom, it has spread its wings in recent years and found its place in Europe, Australia, East Asia, and Latin America.
Not only do children don spooky costumes and venture into the darkness, visiting houses transformed into eerie wonderlands with pumpkins glowing like stars in the night sky and torches lighting the way, but adults have also caught the Halloween bug, organizing their own Halloween festivities from Rotterdam to Den Bosch, and from Amsterdam to wherever their creativity takes them.

Halloween is actually a variation of the English “All-Hallow-Even,” which means All Saints’ Eve. Thousands of years ago, the Celts in Ireland celebrated New Year’s Eve on October 31st.
They believed that spirits of the deceased would visit their former dwellings on that evening.
Today, the eerily dressed children symbolize those wandering souls. Ultimately, it was Irish immigrants in the 19th century who brought this enchanting tradition to America, where it grew into an immensely popular holiday.
So, as the night falls on this special evening, let’s all immerse ourselves in the magic of Halloween, where tradition and modernity come together in an enchanting celebration full of spooky delight!
